Opportunities North 2018 brings together dynamic business, government, and community leaders from across Northern Canada, Alberta, British Columbia, Alaska, and elsewhere in Canada, for an immersive and informative two-and-a-half-day business conference featuring trade networking, cultural experiences and exchange.
Opportunities North 2018 is an annual joint initiative of the Yukon, Northwest Territories, and Edmonton Chambers of Commerce. The conference focuses on the theme of ‘Disruption’, which speaks to paradigm shifts taking place in the Yukon, across the Canadian North, in neighbouring Alaska, throughout the circumpolar world, as well as elsewhere in Canada, in the US and in the rest of the world.
“Disruption” is a double-edged sword, bringing unease, change, and destruction of traditional approaches, while presenting new and unique opportunities. The 2018 conference will explore these opportunities for the growth of individual businesses, overall private-sector growth, First Nations partnerships and roles. It will also address demographic and societal shifts.
This year’s conference will be composed of four half-day modules, each with a critical “Disruption” theme that has an impact on the business communities of the Yukon, Canada and internationally.

The annual Opportunities North conference is a longstanding partnership between the Yukon Chamber of Commerce, the Northwest Territories Chamber of Commerce and the Edmonton Chamber of Commerce. The event rotates among Whitehorse, Yellowknife and Edmonton.
