Brian Love
Executive Director, Oil & Gas, Yukon Energy, Mines & Resources
Brian Love was born and raised in Calgary, and obtained his B.A. (Honors) and M.A. in Geography from the University of Calgary. He moved to the Yukon in 1985, at which time he joined the Yukon government.
Brian has held a number of senior oil and gas positions with the Yukon government. He was responsible for negotiating the transfer of oil and gas responsibilities from the federal government to Yukon, and the development and implementation of Yukon's oil and gas legislation and regulations.
In October, 2001 Brian joined Foothills Pipe Lines as Manager of Northern Affairs for the Alaska Highway Pipeline Project.
In April, 2003 he re-joined the Yukon Government as Director, Oil and Gas Business Development, responsible for attracting oil and gas investment to the Yukon, leading Yukon’s pipeline activities, and negotiating the transfer of offshore responsibilities from Canada to Yukon. In 2007, he was appointed Executive Director, Oil and Gas Resources responsible for all oil and gas and pipeline functions for the Yukon government.
